摘要: The thermal behavior of combustion in air atmosphere were investigated by performing experiments on STA PT1600 Thermal Analyzer at heating rates of 10°C/min, 40°C/min and 70°C/min and range of temperatures from room temperature to 1200°C. The kinetic parameters were evaluated by using Kissinger and Ozawa methods. The result showed that combustion occurred in five stages. Started with initial devolatilization, the main thermal decomposition and combustion process, transition stage, the combustion of char and the last stage was the slow burning reaction of residual char. In line with increasing heating rate, the mass loss rate increased as well, but it delayed the thermal decomposition processes toward higher temperatures. The average activation energy at the main thermal decomposition stage and the stage of char combustion were approximately 251 kJ/mol and 178 kJ/mol, respectively.

Understanding the behavior of recycled aggregate concrete by using thermogravimetric analysis

摘要: The physio-chemical changes in concrete mixes due to different coarse aggregate (natural coarse aggregate and recycled coarse aggregate (RCA)) and mix design methods (conventional method and Particle Packing Method (PPM)) are studied using thermogravimetric analysis of the hydrated cement paste. A method is proposed to estimate the degree of hydration ( ) from chemically bound water ( ). The PPM mix designed concrete mixes exhibit lower . Recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) mixes exhibit higher and after 7 d of curing, contrary to that after 28 and 90 d. The chemically bound water at infinite time ( ) of RAC mixes are lower than the respective conventional concrete mixes. The lower , Ca(OH) bound water, free Ca(OH) content and FT-IR analysis substantiate the use of pozzolanic cement in the parent concrete of RCA. The compressive strength of concrete and cannot be correlated for concrete mixes with different aggregate type and mix design method as the present study confirms that the degree of hydration is not the only parameter which governs the macro-mechanical properties of concrete. In this regard, further study on the influence of interfacial transition zone, voids content and aggregate quality on macro-mechanical properties of concrete is needed.

摘要: In China, safe disposal of hazardous waste is more and more a necessity, urged by rapid economic development. The pyrolysis and combustion characteristics of a residue from producing monopotassium phosphate (monopotassium phosphate residue), considered as a hazardous waste, were studied using a thermogravimetric, coupled with Fourier transform infrared analyzer (TG-FTIR). Both pyrolysis and combustion runs can be subdivided into three stages: drying, thermal decomposition, and final devolatilization. The average weight loss rate during fast thermal decomposition stage in pyrolysis is higher than combustion. Acetic acid, methane, pentane, (acetyl) cyclopropane, 2,4,6-trichlorophenol, CO, and CO were distinguished in the pyrolysis process, while CO was the dominant combustion product.

Parameter for judging reactivity of coal and coke

摘要: To eliminate the judgment error of char reactivity arising from different carbon content of samples, a new parameter called specific maximum weight loss rate was introduced. It is defined as the quotient of the maximum weight loss rate in non-isothermal thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) experiment to the carbon content of the corresponding sample. The reactivity of different kinds of coal, the reactivity of the same coal type with different lithotype, and the reactivity of the char with different carbon conversion rates were checked by using the specific maximum weight loss rate, and the results were analyzed and compared with those obtained by using other criteria. The results show that the specific maximum weight loss rate can be used as a commonality parameter to evaluate and distinguish the reactivity of different coal and char. The heating rate selected in TGA experiment has no effect on the judgment.

Bisphenol-A epoxy resin reinforced and toughened by hyperbranched epoxy resin

摘要: The study on toughening and reinforcing of bisphenol-A epoxy resin is one of important developmental direction in the field. This paper reports a one-pot synthesis of aromatic polyester hyperbranched epoxy resin HTDE-2, an effect of HTDE-2 content on the mechanical and thermal performance of the bisphenol-A (E51)/HTDE-2 hybrid resin in detail. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometer, scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calo ri metry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMA) and molecular simula tion technology are used to study the structure of HTDE-2, performance and toughening and reinforcing mechanism of the HTDE-2/E51 hybrid resin. It has been shown that the content of HTDE-2 has an important effect on the performance of the hybrid resin, and the performance of the HTDE-2/E51 blends has maximum with the increase in HTDE-2 content. The impact strength and fracture toughness of the hybrid resin with 9 wt-% HTDE-2 are almost 3.088 and 1.749 times of E51 performance respectively, furthermore, the tensile and flexural strength can also be enhanced about 20.7% and 14.2%, respectively. The glass transition temperature and thermal degradation temperature, however, are found to decrease to some extent.

Direct synthesis of dimethyl carbonate over rare earth oxide supported catalyst

摘要: Solid base catalysts for the direct synthesis of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) from carbon dioxide, methanol, and propylene oxide were prepared by loading KCl and KCO on the surface of LaO, YO, CeO and NdO. The catalysts were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. The catalytic activities were efficiently influenced by the preparation conditions. The optimal loading amount of KCO is 17.6% (mass) for KCl-KCO/YO and 22.2% for other catalysts. Supports affected the activity of catalyst. KCl-KCO/NdO exhibited the highest activity. The activity of KCl-KCO/YO increased with the increase of calcination temperature in the range of 800ºC–900ºC. The formation of KYO, YOCl or YO species probably promoted the catalysts.

Thermal decomposition mechanism of ammonium sulfate catalyzed by ferric oxide

摘要: The decomposition mechanism of ammonium sulfate catalyzed by ferric oxide was investigated in this paper. The decomposition kinetics parameters were determined via a global optimization of the Kissinger iterative method using the non-isothermal thermogravimetric analysis data. The products and intermediates were synchronously characterized by X-ray diffraction and mass spectrometry. The obtained results indicate that the decomposition process of ammonium sulfate catalyzed by ferric oxide can be divided into four stages of which the activation energies are 123.64, 126.58, 178.77 and 216.99 kJ·mol respectively. The decomposition mechanisms at the first and the fourth stage both belong to Mample power theorem, the second stage belongs to Avrami-Erofeev equation and the third belongs to contracting sphere (volume) equation. The corresponding pre-exponential factors ( ) are calculated simultaneously.

Pyrolysis behaviors of oil sludge based on TG/FTIR and PY-GC/MS

摘要: Pyrolysis is an alternative technology for oil sludge treatment. Thermogravimetric Analysis-Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy and Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry were employed to investigate the pyrolysis process and products of oil sludge. The pyrolysis process was divided into five stages: drying and gas desorption, oil volatilization, main pyrolysis, semi-coke charring, and mineral decomposition. The main reaction temperatures ranged from 497.6 K to 753.2 K. The products were mainly composed of pairs of alkane and alkene (carbon number ranges from 1 to 27). The mechanisms consisted of random chain scission followed by end chain scission at high temperatures with volatilization occurring during the whole process. This study is useful not only for the proper design of a pyrolysis system, but also for improving the utilization of liquid oil products.

原料预处理对橡胶籽壳热裂解特性的影响

摘要:

为探讨水洗、酸洗以及熔盐等预处理方法对生物质热裂解特性的影响,以橡胶籽壳为原料,使用去离子水(H2O)和质量分数分别为5 %、10 %和15 % 的盐酸(HCl)、硫酸(H2SO4)、甲酸(HCOOH)、混合酸溶液(HCl+HCOOH,VHCl∶VHCOOH=1∶1)、KCl以及NaOH对橡胶籽壳进行预处理,采用热重分析法考察了预处理对橡胶籽壳热裂解特性及综合特性指数的影响。结果表明:水洗及酸洗可使橡胶籽壳的热解主反应区热重和微分热重曲线向高温侧移动,最大失重速率和最大失重温度升高,而熔盐则降低;HCl和HCOOH以及HCl+HCOOH溶液浓度对橡胶籽壳热裂解特性的影响较小,而H2SO4浓度的影响显著,并随浓度升高而增大;酸洗有利于橡胶籽壳中挥发分的析出,可以脱除秸秆内的部分钾盐,3 种酸脱钾盐的作用依次为H2SO4>HCl>HCOOH;热裂解热性综合特性指数受水洗和酸洗影响显著,并随酸浓度升高而变化。

Feasibility study on simultaneous removal of sulfur and trace selenium in the MTD-FGD reactor

摘要: This study deals with the simultaneous removal of sulfur dioxide (SO) and trace selenium dioxide (SeO) from flue gas by calcium oxide (CaO) adsorption in the moderate temperature range, especially the feasibility of simultaneous removal of these two pollutants in a moderate temperature dry flue gas desulfurization (MTD-FGD) reactor. The effect of SO presence on selenium capture is studied through the experiments performed on a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) and the following conclusions can be obtained. When CaO conversion is relatively low and the reaction rate is controlled by chemical reaction kinetics, the SO presence does not affect selenium capture. When CaO conversion is very high and the reaction rate is controlled by product layer diffusion, the SO presence and the product layer diffusion resistance jointly reduce selenium capture. Through analyses of some pilot scale MTD-FGD tests, it can be concluded that in the MTD-FGD reactor, the sulfate reaction of sorbent particles is generally kinetically controlled. Therefore, it is feasible that sulfur and trace selenium can be simultaneously removed by Ca-based sorbent in the MTD-FGD reactor.

Decomposition analysis applied to energy and emissions: A literature review

摘要: Decomposition analysis has been widely used to assess the determinants of energy and CO2 emissions in academic research and policy studies. Both the methodology and application of decomposition analysis have been largely improved in the past decades. After more than 50 years’ developments, decomposition studies have become increasingly sophisticated and diversified, and tend to converge internally and integrate with other analytical approaches externally. A good understanding of the literature and state of the art is critical to identify knowledge gaps and formulate future research agenda. To this end, this study presents a literature survey for decomposition analysis applied to energy and emission issues, with a focus on the period of 2016–2021. A review for three individual decomposition techniques is first conducted, followed by a synthesis of emerging trends and features for the decomposition analysis literature as a whole. The findings are expected to direct future research in decomposition analysis.

Flow, thermal, and vibration analysis using three dimensional finite element analysis for a flux reversal

摘要: This paper presents the simulation of major mechanical properties of a flux reversal generator (FRG) viz., computational fluid dynamic (CFD), thermal, and vibration. A three-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA) based CFD technique for finding the spread of pressure and air velocity in air regions of the FRG is described. The results of CFD are mainly obtained to fine tune the thermal analysis. Thus, in this focus, a flow analysis assisted thermal analysis is presented to predict the steady state temperature distribution inside FRG. The heat transfer coefficient of all the heat producing inner walls of the machine are evaluated from CFD analysis, which forms the main factor for the prediction of accurate heat distribution. The vibration analysis is illustrated. Major vibration sources such as mechanical, magnetic and applied loads are covered elaborately which consists of a 3D modal analysis to find the natural frequency of FRG, a 3D static stress analysis to predict the deformation of the stator, rotor and shaft for different speeds, and an unbalanced rotor harmonic analysis to find eccentricity of rotor to make sure that the vibration of the rotor is within the acceptable limits. Harmonic analysis such as sine sweep analysis to identify the range of speeds causing high vibrations and steady state vibration at a mode frequency of 1500 Hz is presented. The vibration analysis investigates the vibration of the FRG as a whole, which forms the contribution of this paper in the FRG literature.

Review of sentiment analysis: An emotional product development view

摘要: Conveying consumers’ specific emotions in new products, referred to as emotional product development or emotional design, is strategically crucial for manufacturers. Given that sentiment analysis (SA) can extract and analyze people’s opinions, sentiments, attitudes, and perceptions regarding different products/services, SA-based emotional design may provide manufacturers with real-time, direct, and rapid decision support. Despite its considerable advancements and numerous survey and review articles, SA is seldom considered in emotional design. This study is among the first efforts to conduct a thorough review of SA from the view of emotional design. The comprehensive review of aspect-level SA reveals the following: 1) All studies focus on extracting product features by mixing technical product features and consumers’ emotional perceptions. Consequently, such studies cannot capture the relationships between technical and emotional attributes and thus cannot convey specific emotions to the new products. 2) Most studies use the English language in SA, but other languages have recently received more interest in SA. Furthermore, after conceptualizing emotion as Kansei and introducing emotional product development and Kansei Engineering, a review of the data-driven emotional design is then conducted. A few efforts start to study emotional design with the help of SA. However, these studies only focus on either analyzing consumers’ preferences on product features or extracting emotional opinions from online reviews, thus cannot realize data-driven emotional product development. Finally, some research opportunities are provided. This study opens a broad door to aspect-level SA and its integration with emotional product development.
